Hey look! It's been more than a month! Whod've guessed?
Hey team!
Guess what I'm still terrible at?
If you guessed keeping up with a blog, you'd be absolutely 100% correct!
Here's a rundown of what I've done since we last met:
I ran in a Relay for Life! Dressed as a male Tinkerbell! My costuming skills continue to improve. This costume was put together with some of my spare green Cotton Spandex, and uses the same cotton-spandex pants as my Hiccup costume will.
Hiccup is coming along nicely. I have the pants, shirt, and the main armor piece shaped. I'm still trying to find the time to go to my mother's house to quilt in the scales, but I've gotten a head start on creating the black piece for the shoulders. That's going to be a pretty straightforward piece, now that I've taken a closer look at that. It'll end up being the same vinyl as the rest of the upper armor pieces, but will be covered in the black stretch pleather that I've found. I've made a few of the pieces already that look pretty damn incredible. It'll be a good costume once it's done.
Entertainment-wise I'm now behind on my reading goal. The last few books I've picked up have been 10-hour reads instead of the previous books which I've plowed through in 4-5 hours. It's made it harder to make it through a book a week, but they've still been pretty awesome books.
I did pick up Twilight Princess HD and I must say, that was an AMAZING purchase. They've made great improvements to the graphics, and the gamepad on the Wii-U makes it easy to take anywhere and play. I'm thinking of doing a play through of all the Zelda games I own, which includes a few I've purchased on the 3DS store, the 3D remakes of Ocarina an Majora, the HD remakes of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, a playthrough of my recently re-acquired Skyward Sword which I never ended up finishing in the first place, and hopefully the new one when it comes out later this year.
I also picked up the Early-Release version of Roller Coaster Tycoon World, and it's been a pretty good experiment so far. I really enjoy the way the game plays but they really have to work on optimization. My PC struggles through rotating objects, watching the roller coasters from POV, and placing objects on uneven ground cause the frame rate drop to a really impressive 2-4 FPS.
Other than all of that, I've been shuffled around at work to a full-time year-round position, and have been busy working many more hours than I usually would be allowed to in order to get the park ready to open by opening day. It's been a crazy few weeks, and between that, trying to spend time with my girlfriend, and trying to keep myself sane, I've been far too busy to try to plug through anything blog-worthy. Expect that to change once work calms down and I'm able to spend less than 60 hours a week at work.
